Kindergarten Math Worksheets
|
Kindergarten math worksheets should be fun and creative. They should encourage your kindergartner to explore a subject further. This is what I offer you here. Fun math worksheets, that are high interest. |
I have based my worksheets on the Washington State Standards for Kindergarten math. In kindergarten, the emphasis in geometry, is on shape recognition of 2-dimensional and some 3-dimensional shapes. The 'sorting' skill is developed using the classification of attributes to determine shapes that 'are the same' and 'different'. And finally an objects location - inside, outside, above, bellow etc.
This last skill is something we take for granted, however the fine tuning of spacial skills now will only increase your child's geometry skills for later grades.
I hope you enjoy this section of our site. Don't forget that some great fun can be had, even at this young age through hands on projects. You can find some examples of these in our geometry project section
